The website

When you open the website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary connection data in server log files: IP address, date and time, requested page or file, status code, amount of data transferred, and browser and operating system (user agent). This serves the secure and stable operation of the site. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). The hosting provider keeps the log files only as long as necessary for this purpose.

The website is delivered as a static site by Render (Render Services, Inc., USA). A data processing agreement exists with the provider. Where personal data is transferred to the USA, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on EU standard contractual clauses as appropriate safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.

The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no content from third-party servers. Fonts and images are served from the same address.

When you choose the appearance (light, dark, automatic) or the language, your browser stores that choice locally (local storage). The value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it in your browser settings.

Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We delete the message once the request is dealt with and no retention duties apply.

The app

NaviMoto needs no account and has no backend of its own. We do not collect, store or receive any data from the app. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools and passes no data on to third parties.

Location: For the approach to the start and for navigation on the tour, the app uses your iPhone’s location. It is evaluated (progress along the route, speed, arrival time, route notes) exclusively on your device. To keep navigation running with the display locked, you can allow background use. You can change both permissions at any time in iOS settings.

Local data: Which tours you have already ridden is stored only locally on your iPhone. If you delete the app, this data is removed. There is no sync with other devices or servers.

Voice guidance is generated by iOS on your device.

Apple services in the app

Maps, the calculation of the approach to the start and Look Around use Apple MapKit. Your iPhone sends requests to Apple, for example for map tiles and for the route to the start. How Apple processes this data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). Siri and Shortcuts are handled by iOS according to your system settings.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Write to us at info@navimoto.app.

Changes

If the app or the website changes in a way that also changes how data is handled, we will update this policy. Last updated: October 2026.
